Question by …: What medical conditions can cause someone to have very large bowl movements?
My husband has been having trouble going to the bathroom. Every once in a while he will have a bowl movement that is very large and painful for him to pass. He is an otherwise healthy man who has a regular, normal size diet. This doesn’t happen all of the time. We have tried to add more fiber into his diet but it doesn’t seem to be helping. Does anyone know what kind of medical conditions can cause this?

Answer by J B
This isn’t a medical condition, it is just an accumulation of stool in the lower portion of his colon. If he were going regularly every day or twice a day, this probably wouldn’t happen. By increasing his daily water intake, he may be able to have more bowel movements each day and not as large.

Question by Isabella N: What medical condition makes a person sensitive to heat?
I know this person who cannot go out in the heat during the summer, otherwise it will make him faint. He doesn’t like to discuss this, but I would like to understand him a little better. Also, in his apartment during the summer he always has to have the air conditioner on or he will faint or have problems. What medical condition is this?

Question by Razberry: What is the difference between a medical retirement and a medical discharge from the Army?
It looks like I will be getting med-borded. what are the differences between medical retirement and medical discharge? I keep hearing both terms thrown around. Thank you for your help!

Answer by eyespy
Discharge means you have an injury which precludes your performance of duty, and not enough for retirement.
Retriement on the other hand means you have an injury, which
precludes your duty so drastically with enough time and service, you are retired with a pension for that injury. A good example of this is Type 1/Type 2 Diabetes having occured on active duty. With the years you would be retired, no real years of service, you are discharged.
Hope that starts the explanation and good luck.

Question by eitthegreat: Is there a medical way to determine a rough estimate for one to reach menopause?
Is there a specific type of doctors or medical tests performed that can find this information out? Are there medical tests also to determine if one is and will be physically able to deliver a baby?
Best answer:
Answer by ukmolly
There are a few blood tests that give an indication; most women reach the menopause at a similar age to when their mother did. I’m not sure there’s much point to tests though, unless you’ve been trying for a baby for a long time without success.
If you’re worried about fertility, see a doctor.

There actually are Not too many jobs for the medical biller or coder (or medical assistant) despite what those private $$ schools proclaim. The medical biller actually bills the patient and/or (health) insurance company to try to get payment for services rendered, however, many billing offices are being outsourced overseas including Asia/India. My cousin just got laid off from her medical billing job of five years due to that increasing trend.
The medical coder actually (is supposed to) puts the correct code according to the diagnosis (such as provided by the physician. It’s also tough to get a job as a coder since the person is supposed to have at least a couple years experience doing coding tasks, certification(s) in the field and graduated from an accredited program to possibly get employed. The medical facility or billing office can get a hefty fine if the diagnosis is not coded correctly which is why places would like a lot of experience beforehand. Some diagnoses have very similar codes to others. Please note that the placement services offered at those schools really don’t have many more leads than the newspaper or job site. It’s more or less to try to entice the student to sign up.
